I’ve been ‘gone’ so long I hardly know what to do! So this will be short and easy. I hope. Here is a new utility bag, made from repurposed fabric, painted with the ‘squeek’ from paint rollers. Useful and sturdy.
It’s available here in my Etsy Shop.

Finally. At last. I completed the blue bag, combined with the gray upcycled work uniform fabric – still sturdy and eager to serve.

Process: My (unplanned ) ‘plan’ changed to horizontal. It was just too large. I hit a brain block. So now I will have part of my piecing to make an additional bag. A set of 2, perhaps.
I am enjoying sewing again but I still change off between textile work and painting, drawing and book art. So it may seem like I’m not working but I am working every day.

I have a soft spot for this bag! Perhaps because it has been so long since I sewed one, you think? But I really love this utility bag. Paint rag outer pockets that are totally accidental but seemed ready to be seen and admired. Made for stashing your handwork supplies.
Paint rag bag starts……..
Another journal for travelers with its own storage or carry bag. Perhaps someone will use it to record their travels to view solar eclipses. I am, at this moment, waiting for my own 2017 experience……..two more hours………
This book and bag is available in my Etsy Shop, here.

…..from ‘Fearless Creating’ by Eric Maisel, PH. D.
“Working means holding the work.
Working means hushing.
Working means starting.
Working means mastering the disinclination to work.
Working means working in the moment.
Working means entering the trance of working.
Working means appraising.
Working means choosing.
Working means negotiating a maze.
Working means living with chaotic-mind anxiety.
Working means ordering the work.
Working means wrestling with the thing from the sea.
Working means manifesting drive and direction.
Working means reframing the impossible as possible.
Working means making and correcting mistakes.
Working means waking up working.
Working means working on a given day.
Working means silencing distractions.
Working means surviving disturbances.
Working means loving the work, not hating it.
Working means providing your own warmth.
Working means maintaining tension.
Working means working over time.
Working means surrendering.
Good luck!”
Still here, still stitching.
And painting.
And pasting.
And pondering.
This coptic stitched journal is available in my Gray Zinnia shop.

Note the close-loop nylon carpet – on my old work platform for doing upholstery. It’s decades old, has endured hard and steady use as a work surface, but functions very well for hand-cutting mat board, etc., so it’s still here, too!
